Metrowitch Interactive is a solo 'indie' effort by Gemma Thomson — making inclusive, narrative-driven games with an urban-occult twist.
Gemma started out in the UK, earning some post-graduate stripes by designing educational and 'indie' games at a micro-studio in London. When a new destiny beckoned, she packed some belongings onto a train and moved to Stockholm — there to work freelance, and attend quite a few game jams. The next few years meant wearing various interesting, new hats too — as a game design lecturer, events organiser and studio co-founder.Metrowitchin'
New Year 2018 was marked with a resolution: to make a game from which to learn new skills, freshen up the portfolio, and express more personal, artistic ideas. That project was given the label "Metrowitch", for narrative-led and inclusive games at an intersection of witchcraft, Scots culture and urban spaces.
